What we do
CHIROPRACTIC
Chiropractic is a drug and surgery free approach to health care that is focused on nerve, joint and musculoskeletal body systems with emphasis on spinal function. Most commonly people seek chiropractic care for joint and muscular problems such as low back pain, neck pain, headaches as well as upper or lower limb pain. Chiropractors assess these musculoskeletal and spinal dysfunctions and any associated effects that may occur within the nervous system. Impairment within the nervous system due to spinal dysfunction may lead to a number of other health concerns. Chiropractors aim to remove this dysfunction by use of a chiropractic adjustment which can be delivered in a number of ways.
Traditionally, adjustments are delivered by hand with the use of a high-velocity, low-amplitude thrust to restore movement to joints within the body that may not be functioning correctly. This type of adjustment can release gasses within the joint producing a popping sound. Alternative methods involve special tools and tables designed to correct spinal dysfunction which will be discussed with you if required.

APPLIED KINESIOLOGY
Our use of applied kinesiology together with standard diagnostic procedures provides us with a holistic approach to your wellness. When evaluating your health, we will consider your structural, chemical and emotional condition. We look for the cause of your health problems and provide treatment especially suited to your needs. Applied kinesiology is a fantastic method for determining causes of recurring spinal dysfunction and other health complications.
Applied Kinesiology is a procedure which uses muscle testing, as a primary feedback mechanism, to examine how your body is functioning. Your chiropractor finds a muscle imbalance then attempts to determine why the muscle is not working correctly. This enables your chiropractor to determine the best form of treatment for you. Therapies may include; chiropractic spinal adjusting, cranial techniques, myofascial therapies, meridian therapies, clinical nutrition, dietary advice and emotion/stress reducing procedures.
Your chiropractor may test for environmental or food sensitivities by using a previously strong muscle and seeing what weakens it e.g. – chlorine, dairy, wheat/gluten, sugars, skin care products etc. Depending on the results, nutrition supplements and or a change of diet may be recommended. An extremely common cause of recurring health problems is gastro-intestinal tract dysfunction. Decreased intestinal vitamin and mineral absorption can lead to decreased body function and healing capabilities. An important aspect of our care is establishing what ingested products may be causing gut irritation and then also what can help restore proper absorption.
Applied Kinesiology can also determine whether muscle weakness and health complications are being caused by mental thought processes. If this is the case, our chiropractors can use another approach called Neuro Emotional Technique to establish and help remove this type of irritation.
Applied Kinesiologists use the triad of health as their model. The triad of health is interactive, a problem on one side of the triad can affect the other sides e.g. a chemical imbalance may cause mental/emotional problems. Applied Kinesiology enables the practitioner to evaluate the triad’s balance and direct therapy toward the imbalanced side or sides.
We would like you to consider our team as partners in your continuing good health. We can make a valuable contribution to your wellness, but it is essential that you take an active involvement too. Due to our holistic approach, we will often recommend that you make adjustments to your diet, your exercise habits, stress management and other lifestyle factors.
